<FluxFormer: A Survey of Contemporary Taiwan Sculptures, 2024>
This year’s exhibition theme refers to the ancient saying "Heaven and Earth have righteousness, and they present in always fluxing forms", with the hope to focus on Taiwan's contemporary sculpture art, from distant viewing to close appreciation, from individual expression to collective presentation, all of them can give people a new feeling of diversified interests and diverse styles. In view of the international trend of contemporary sculpture in the 21st century, it has moved from the formalism/modern theories towards the complete freedom and boundless expansion. Also, the sculpture sector in Taiwan, whether in the academy or in the private sector, has gradually ceased to indulge in/constrained itself in the "sculpture essence", and shifted from the anxiety of "how it should be" to the pleasure of "how it can be" in the thinking and practice of sculpture creation. In short, the trend of individualized expression, autonomous thinking and diversified development can be regarded as a norm rather than an anomaly.
